Seatbelts on regional school buses

The objective of the Seatbelt for Kids subsidy program is to increase the number of school buses equipped with seatbelts for students in rural and regional areas. The scheme provides funding to fit seatbelts to new buses or retrofit existing buses.

To be eligible, applicants will need to be a bus operator having an existing contract with a state/territory government to provide school bus services on a recognised rural and regional school bus route. State, territory and local governments are not eligible to apply.
